I Love Easter and All, But...

I don’t exactly want a year-round Easter-themed kitchen.

You know how I’ve been refinishing some dining room pieces?

Here’s the before…

Here’s the prime…

Here’s the shade that I was aiming for…

Here’s the shade that I ended up with. Errrghhhhh….

Yep. The paint that I was thinking of was a dreamy greenish-blue. This is actually the perfect shade for an Easter egg.

Yuck. I detest do-overs.

So…I’m now sanding again…and again.

Hopefully the next time you see this table, it will be worthy of Fab!!!

Wish me luck (and patience).

Oh man! How frustrating! I think it looks great, but I'll bet the color you have in mind will be even better! :)

Omg, I can't believe I'm just finding YOUR beautiful blog! I think you nailed the color based on the inspiration photo, don't you? Maybe because there is just more of the table it doesn't look right to you? I'm so glad you linked this up!

Redos are no fun. Maybe you should try a glaze, it will generally tone down the color a bit. I love the table, but don't stop till you are happy!
