And now that things on the homefront have settled some,
I’m back!
Thanks so much to so many of you who wrote the sweetest comments to me while we were in the midst of his departure!
I’m back to blogging, and thrilled to be here!
So…here we go!
For you travel bugs out there, I need to share with you one of my favorite Euro spots to check out.
See if you can imagine a place such as this…
Blissfully clean streets,
fabulous shops galore (including an Italian outlet mall!!!),
cobblestone paths adorned with fresh fruit and vegetable markets,
your choice of Swiss delicacies or an Italian menu,
and all surrounding a true-blue gigantic lake.
Any clue where this may be?
On the south end of Switzerland, just on the Italian border, is a dreamy little spot known as Lugano.
My American-Swiss friend Brenda took me there just after college graduation, and my senses have never been the same!
Lugano is truly the best of both worlds.
Here are a few websites that will help you plan your trip to Lugano.
Wiki's Info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lugano
Lugano's Official Tourist Site
And one of my favorite bloggers, Expat with Kids.
I had to miss Switzerland on this year’s buying trip, but I’m planning on hitting good ol' Schweiz next Spring!
And...you can bet that Lugano will be on the map!
My apologies as these pics are borrowed from other fabulous sites, but it appears that my sweet soldier borrowed my thumb drive…containing all my travel pics.
That thumb drive is now stationed somewhere in the middle east!
Oh well…
As always, thanks so much for tuning in!
Come on over!

I'm so sorry that you're dealing with another deployment... but, wow! I've never heard of Lugano but it looks and sounds amazing! Someday I'll have to visit!
Thanks so much for joining us for Friendly Friday, have a great weekend!
Thanks for your sweet comment! I am sorry you are having to go through another deployment as well! The pictures are gorgeous and I'm pretty sure my son and daughter in law have been there...they go to Bergamo quite often to visit the doctor that treats my grandaughter for a bi-lateral cleft lip and palette..so while they are there they often take a side trip to help make the trip somewhat fun! I will have to ask them and if they haven't been...tell them they should go! I would LOVE to go and especially go on an antiquing trip as well!!!
I am smitten to bits with the mention of my blog in your Lugano post. Grazie mille bella! What a lovely surprise. You definately made my weekend. Hope to invite you to a "gelato" or a "cappuccino" when you pass by this part of Switzerland! ;) Ciao da Lugano!

it has been so many years since I visited Switzerland, but I can almost smell the clean, crisp air just reading your post. I was so impressed with how clean and beautiful the country was. I'd love to return and visit Lugano. it looks like perfection! I huge thank you to you and your husband and family for the sacrifices you make to keep our country free. My prayers are with you and your family. laurie
I just visited your Blog today. It's so charming and creative. My daughter, Jess, traveled through Europe a couple years ago, and loved everything about it. Me and my daughters started a new blog, and it will show some of the places that they have traveled to. We would love it if you could visit us and follow. The link is:http://redrosealley.blogspot.comWe recently did a post on "Home Treasures," and it will give you a chance to get to know us better. Paris was my daughter's favorite place to visit. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
